They’re different on the insides too. The turbocharger uses a turbine-like assembly and manufacturers who use it appreciate the flatter power curve and the increased low-end. On the other hand, a supercharger uses a compressor with a twin-screw style assembly and even at lower revs, it boost engine output quite well, while the turbocharger needs higher revs to do that.
